Abstract: VARIAS, GRACE VIDALLON. Personality Traits, Leadership Behavior and Leadership Styles of SK Councilors from Selected Barangays of Alfonso, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology with certificate in CISM. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2008. Adviser: Sir Franco B. Pelayo. This study entitled "Personality Traits, Leadership Behavior and Leadership Styles of SK Councilors from Selected Barangays of Alfonso, Cavite". Specifically this study aimed to 1. determine the personality traits of the respondents in terms of being considerate, objective, humble, alert, reliable, refine and sociable 3. determine the leadership behavior of the respondents in terms of human motivation, initiative, group-process, problem-solving, decision-making and human relation 4. determine the leadership style of the respondents 5. determine if there is significant relationship between the personality traits and leadership behavior of the respondents and 6. determine if the personality traits and leadership behavior have significant influence to the leadership style of the respondents. The respondents of the study are 112 SK Councilors in selected barangays of Alfonso, Cavite. The data were gathered using test in Personality Traits that was lifted and modified from the study of Antonio Arapan (1993), while the Leadership Behavior Questionnaire was lifted and modified from the study of Anita Abad (1996) and Leadership Style Questionnaire that was lifted and modified from the study of Mary Shiela Jeciel (2007). The result of this study revealed that in overall total of personality traits, the SK Councilors have very good personality traits with the total mean of 3.29 and standard deviation of .32363. It means they always used all these traits needed of a leader in their work. Being sociable got the highest mean which means that they are very good in terms of sociability, which means that the respondents make friends easily, cooperative and agreeable IR their relations with people. Meanwhile, being objective which means good in terms of objectivity, which means that this trait is important in doing decision-making to achieve goal for successful leadership. In determining the leadership behavior, the findings indicate that the overall total of leadership behavior is high with the total mean of 3.04 and standard deviation of .32975. Human relations got the highest mean with the interpretation of very high, which means they have good relationship with each other. Meanwhile, human motivation got the lowest mean with the interpretation of high which means that the respondents make the effective leaders to make commitments in goals and comply with rules and procedures by using strategies. The findings also revealed that the majority of the SK Councilors in Alfonso, Cavite are democratic leaders. Furthermore, findings show that there is significant relationship between personality traits and leadership behavior. Findings revealed also that there is significant influence of personality traits to leadership style of the respondents. However, there is no significant influence of leadership behavior to the leadership style of the SK Councilors.

This study entitled "Personality Traits, Leadership Behavior and Leadership Styles of SK Councilors from Selected Barangays of Alfonso, Cavite".
