This farm practice was conducted at the Poultry Project of the Department of Animal Science, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from January 15, 1993 to March 5, 1993. A total of 230 birds was used in one production cycle to gain managerial and/ or supervisory experience by applying the basic principles in broliler
production.
The broiler consumed a total of 1,000 kg of feeds, attained a total final body weight of 377.91 or an average of 1.71 kg/bird and a feed conversion efficiency of 2.71. The birds were sold at P50.00 per kg liveweight. The total expenses incurred Was P15, 126.58 while the total sales amounted to P19 ,005.50 giving a net income of P3,878.92 or a return on investment of 25.64 percent.
The percentage mortality of the birds from day old up to seven weeks was well within the acceptable limit.
