Abstract: MENDOZA, ALEXIS P. Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Philippines, Inc. Undergraduate Field Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Marketing, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2008. Adviser: Prof. Estrellita D. Corpuz. A field study was conducted for 480 hours at Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Phils., Inc. located at 8439 South Super Highway, West Service Road, Marcelo Green, Paraliaque City, Metro Manila. The main objective of the study was to enable the author to apply his gained knowledge and skills to real work situations. Specifically, the study was conducted to expose the author to different activities in the firm, get involved in the different activities of a testing laboratory and inspection service firm, and identify the problems faced by the firm and recommend possible solutions. The company offers laboratory and inspection services for a wide range of consumer products. It also assesses manufacturing facilities to ensure social compliance, review processes and audit capabilities. The laboratory is an accredited ISO 17025 laboratory by the Bureau of Philippine Standards. It is the accredited testing laboratory of the most big buyers in USA like Gap, Disney, Kmart, Ann Taylor, Target, Dillard's, Philip Van Heusen, William Carter's Sears, Oshkosh, Baby togs, William Sonoma, Sports Authority, Nike, and others. Relevant data and information were obtained from office files, observations, and through personal interviews with employees. Other information were gathered from the company's web site (www. cps. bureauveritas. corn). Delayed delivery of test results to the clients was one of the problems encountered by the firm due to lack of service providers in the laboratory. During the conduct of field study, the student performed many activities inside and outside of the company and also met several clients. These experiences will be useful for the author's endeavors in seeking future employment.
