Abstract: SANTIAGO, MIRACLE S. Royal Star Appliance Marketing, Incorporated, Calamba City, Laguna. Undergraduate Field Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Marketing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2008. Adviser: Prof. Myrachael S. Nolasco. The field study was conducted at Royal Star Appliance Marketing, Incorporated located at National Highway, Parian, Calamba City, Laguna from November 14, 2007 to February 15, 2008. It was conducted to provide the student with great opportunities to be exposed to the different activities and operations of the company. Specifically, it aimed to describe the organization and management of the company, describe the management policies and practices employed by the company, describe the company's operations, identify the marketing strategies of the firm, determine the problems encountered and recommend feasible solutions to the problems. Data were gathered through observations, research and interviews with the company personnel and employees who are knowledgeable on the essential details. Basic appliance definitions and industry trends were gathered from the Internet and reading materials from Cavite State University Library. The firm has 202 employees. It provides incentives which help and motivate the employees in performing their tasks efficiently. The company has eight departments, namely: Auditing, Human Resource, Marketing Communications, Management Information System, Accounting, Warehouse, Sales Support/ Merchandizing and Service. The firm is one of the authorized dealers of different home appliances and other household needs. Purchasing process starts when a walk-in client visits the store. The top management determines the prices of the products. Products were promoted by using advertisements, personal selling and sales promotion tools. The most saleable items were televisions, washing machines and refrigerators. Customer complaints were one of the problems encountered by the employees. In addition, defective units, delayed deliveries and inaccurate filing of stocks and documents were also encountered by the firm. The trainee was exposed to different activities in Human Resources Department, such as preparation of different accountable forms, filing and recording of files of the employees and applicants. She acquired skills in some selling transactions and learned how to prepare customer contracts, quotation letters and daily remittance reports in the Sales Department.
