Abstract: RODERNO, ARJAY G., Applied Research IV (General Science Curriculum) 1997. "Growth and Flowering Response of Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) to Different Concentrations of Paclobutrazol '', Prof. Josefino A. Viado and Prof. Celso S. Crucido, Advisers. This study was conducted from June 1996 to January 1997) in the Greenhouse Number 4 of the Crop Science Department, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite toa determine the best concentration of Paclobutrazol on the growth and flowering of chrysanthemum and to determine the effects of different concentrations of Paclobutrazol on the quality of flower, number of leaves, and time of flowering of chrysanthemum. About 19 centimeter cuttings were used in the study. One month after transplanting, some plants were sprayed with different concentrations of Paclobutrazol, i.@, 100, 300, 500, and 700 ppm. The control was not treated with any growth regulator. After a month, the Same procedure was done. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design. The findings showed that Faclobutrazol significantly reduced the height of the treated plants. Plants produced compact growth with no. significant reduction in size of flowers. The study also revealed that the best concentration is 500 Ppm, Since it gave the most desired height of Plant without stem collapse and an average number of flowers and leaves. Higher concentration, 700 ppm caused excessive retardation in height and production of flowers.
