Abstract: Harlene Joy D. Lamsen "Stress and Job Burnout Among Managers and Supervisors of Selected Hotels in Tagaytay City". Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, indang, Cavite.S.Y. 2008-2009 Adviser: Ms. Alma Fatima R. Reyes. This research had the purpose of studying the stress and job burnout among managers and supervisors of selected hotels in Tagayatay City and were conducted and administered among 35 respondents of selected hotels in Tagaytay City. Specifically, the study described the demographic profile of the respondents in terms: age, gender educational attainment, salary and length of employment. It focused to determine the level of stress (lack of control, information gaps, cause and effect, conflict, overload, underload, environment and value conflict) and level of the job burnout (depersonalization, personal accomplishment and emotional exhaustion). It also focused to determine if there was an existing relationship between demographic profile to the level of stress and job burnout and if stress and job burnout are significantly related with each other. Based on the result, the researcher found out that the null hypothesis that there was no significant relationship between demographic profile and level of stress and level of job burnout in terms of age, gender, civil status, salary, educational attainment and length of employment, status of work and position was accepted. It further showed that the demographic profile had no significant relationship to the level of stress and job burnout of the respondents. The researcher also found out that the null hypothesis that there was no significant relationship between job burnout and stress in terms of conflict, overload, underload, environment and value conflict, was rejected except for lack of control , information gaps, cause and effect. It further showed that stress in terms of conflict, underload, environment and value conflict had a significant relationship to job burnout the respondents. Based on the result, it could also be inferred that the stress and job burnout had a significant relation to each other because when individual facets of job burnout tend to be the higher level of stress was also higher and when an individual had low level of stress, job burnout would also be in a low level. They would not experience job burnout if a person were not to experiencing stress.
