This study entitled Leadership Style and Conflict Resolving Style among Selected Management Personnel of Industrial Galvanizer Corporation and Steel Mill Corporation has aimed to know the leadership style and conflict resolving style selected management personnel of Industrial Galvanizer Corporation and Somico Steel Mill Corporation Specifically, this study has aimed to determine the leadership style and conflict resolving style of the respondents. Also it identified if there is a significant difference on the leadership style between the two-group respondents; and if there is a significant difference on the conflict resolving style between the two- group respondents. A valid leadership style indicator and Conflict Resolving Style Indicator was administered to determine the leadership style and conflict resolving style of the respondents.
The respondents were determined by the use of Purposive Sampling techniques. Only 15 respondent employees from Somico Steel Mill Corporation and 17 respondent employees from Industrial Galvanizer Corporation were included in this study. A total of 32 respondents including selected supervisor, foremen and leadsman. Based on the result of the study, it was revealed that most of the respondent employees of Somico Steel Mill Corporation and Industrial Galvanizer perceived themselves more as Democratic Leaders than neither Autocratic Leader nor Laissez Faire Leader. Collaborative was found to be the most commonly used conflict resolution style. Other conflict resolving style such as avoiding, accommodating, competitive and compromising are occasionally used. Based on the result obtained from this study the author highly recommends for the employees to observe their bosses to know what kind of a leader they are.
This may help them to be aware of what they should expect from their bosses. It is also suggested for the company to organize seminar and orientation on how to cope with different problems and help them build a harmonious relationship within the company.
