Abstract: TEPORA, RITALYN E. Demographic Profile and Coping Reaction Towards Bereavement among Parents in Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2009. Adviser: Ms. Joy Novero. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between demographic profile and coping reaction towards bereavement among parents in Indang, Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to present the profile of the respondents in terms of age of the child, religion, duration of loss, death type of the child and profession, and to determine the coping reaction in terms of denial, focus on venting of emotions, suppression of competing activities, active coping, turning to religion, seeking social support, mental disengagement and acceptance. The questionnaire was administered to 100 bereaved parents from different barangays in Indang, Cavite from November 2008 until December 2008. The findings of the study showed that the demographic profile of the respondents have no significant relationship to their coping reaction. As a whole, the results showed that the bereaved parents were more likely to be emotion-focused in their coping reaction.
