Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2010. Adviser: Mr. Gilberto S. David The CRN Vegetable Farm was operated by three Agribusiness major students at Palangue 2, Naic, Cavite from December 2009 to March 2010. The project was conducted to enable the students apply their knowledge and skills in business management to the actual operation of vegetable production. Specifically, it aimed to describe the different practices followed in vegetable production, determine the profit generated in vegetable production and determine the problems encountered in vegetable production and suggest possible solutions. The project concentrated on vegetable production and marketing. The project was operated as a partnership type of business wherein the partners were responsible for the operation of the business. The entrepreneurs had an initial investment of PhP30,000.00 which was equally shared by the entrepreneurs. The said capital was used for purchasing seeds, fertilizers, tools and equipments and for paying the irrigation, land rental and labor. Seeds, fertilizers, tools and equipments were purchased from Palangue Agrarian Reform Cooperative (PARC). Land preparation was done before putting the plastic mulch (basal application of fertilizer), trellising and transplanting. Irrigation was done in different periods depending on the type of vegetable; cucumber every five days, ridge gourd, once a week, melon every three days; and pechay and mustard every other day. Foliar spray and fertilizer application was done every week. The business earned a profit of PhP17,757.50. At the start of the business, the entrepreneurs encountered some problems like abrupt change in weather condition and strong winds that affected the growth and productivity. The problems were solved by training the vines through the use of vegetable twine. It is done by tying the tendrils of the crop to prevent the breakage of the stem. Another problem encountered was the presence of pest and disease that is why the entrepreneurs applied micronutrients, that repels insect
