Abstract: DENZO JOLAN N. Emotional Maturity of Students Who Engaged and Who Did Not Engage in Premarital Sex in Cavite State University SY 2005-2006. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science major in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2006. Adviser: Mrs. Ma Alodia. C. Mercado. The study was conducted to determine the relationship of premarital sex to emotional maturity of selected students of College of Arts and Sciences and College of Nursing of Cavite State University during the School Year of 2005-2006. It also aimed to determine the significant difference in the level of emotional maturity between the respondents who were engaged in pre-marital sex and those who are not the descriptive method of research was used in this study and purposive sampling was used as sampling technique. The evaluative design employed in this study was based on the revised version of a standardized questionnaire and psychological test to determine the influence of premarital sex on emotional maturity. Results of the study revealed that: The levels of emotional maturity of the respondents were on the average. However, there is significant difference was found on the emotional maturity of the respondents who had engaged in premarital sex and those who did not engage in premarital sex. Meanwhile, the demographic profile of the respondents does affect the respondents' emotional maturity except for the respondents' age. There is no significant relation between the age of the respondents and their emotional maturity.
