Abstract: AYOS, MICHELLE M. and MARTONITO, ROSELYN L. Online Publication of CvSU Updates. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2005. Adviser: Ms. Shaneth A. Estrada. The study aimed to develop an Online Publication of Cavite State University Updates. Specifically, it aimed to provide a ready access of current events about the university through online publication of CvSU Updates, enhance the delivery of information about the current events within the university and its satellite campuses; provide an archive for the purpose of research; lessen the time being consumed by the Public Information Officers in submitting the reports to the PICRO; and give an easy way of consolidating news or current events from the entire CvSU system. The system covers encoding of the administrator of the reports from each of the public information officers, which is assigned in each unit in the university. It assured that the information is accurate and records are secured from unauthorised access of information because the user needs to log-in and use a definite password before using the system. The study has three levels of access, which include the administrator, the public information officer and the clientele. The administrator is responsible for accessing the home page, the messages from the clientele, the reports from the public information officer, records of account, the design wherein the articles are encoded and the log-out menu is performed. The public information officer is responsible for accessing the home page, submitting the reports to the administrator, the profile and the log-out menu. The clientele is capable of accessing the home page, sending message to the administrator and perform searching. The study covered all the issues of the CvSU Updates from 1999 to 2003. In designing the software, Hierarchical Input Process Output (HIPO) and Input Process Output (IPO) were used to have an overview of the overall structured design of the program. HIPO/IPO chart was a tool used to visualize the program architecture. Fourth-Generation Technique was the paradigm used because it has a broad range of tools that allows easy creation and modification of software. It allows programs to be created in a non-procedural manner. The scripting language used was Java Server Page (JSP), Oracle as database and Tomcat as its compiler. In the software evaluation, it was found out that the software serves as an online computer based publication material that is interesting and informative. It provides an online access of the Updates that will assist every user to be updated of what had happened on the whole university system. The study proved that the use of online publication is an effective comprehensive tool for immediate needs of information because it gives clear and accurate information of current events within the university.

The clientele is capable of accessing the home page, sending message to the administrator and perform
searching.

It provides an
online access of the Updates that will assist every user to be updated of what had happened on the whole university system.

The study proved that the use of online publication is an effective comprehensive tool for immediate needs of information because it gives clear and accurate information of current events within the university.
