Abstract: MENDOZA, LIEZEL C. Predictors of Learning Motivation of Third Year College Students at Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2011. Thesis Adviser: Dr. Cecilia B. Banaag. This study was conducted to determine the predictors of learning motivation of third year college students at Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) determine the demographic characteristic of the students in terms of: a. gender, b. family income, and c. sibling order; (2) determine the students' perception of the following variables as factors of learning motivation: a. school/teacher, b. family, and c. peer; (3) determine the learning motivation level of the students; (4) know if there is there is no significant relationship between the demographic characteristics and the learning motivation level of students, and (5) know if there is no significant relationship between the students' perception of the different factors and their level of motivation to learn. Descriptive — correlational design was used in this study using stratified proportional random sampling in selecting the respondents. Learning Motivation Inventory and Student Motivation Scale were the tools utilized and administered to college students. Results of this study revealed that majority of the students were female. The students perceived that school/teacher, family, and peer factor were influential family and peers were significantly related to learning motivation, only the family and peers were the identified predictors of learning motivation in learning motivation. Moreover, students had a high level of learning motivation.
