Abstract: DEJAY D. ABELILLA Demographic Profile, Self—Esteem and Paternal Relationship of Teenage Mothers of Selected Barangays in Silang, Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2013. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Babylyn R. Mercado This study entitled "Demographic profile, Self-esteem and Paternal Relationship of Teenage Mothers in Selected Barangays in Silang Cavite" attempted to: (1) determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, educational attainment, civil status and occupation. (2) determine the level of paternal relationship of the respondent. (3) determine the level of self esteem of the respondent. (4) determine the significant relationship between: self-esteem and paternal relationship of the respondent, demographic profile and self-esteem, demographic profile, self-esteem and paternal relationship. The study involved a total of thirty six (36) selected teenage mothers in Silang, Cavite and the ages of the respondents ranged from 15 to 19 years old. This study adapted the Descriptive Correlational Design to described and relate variables with each other, also to find the significant relationship between self-esteem and paternal relationship of the respondent, demographic profile and self-esteem, demographic profile and paternal relationship. This study used quota and purposive sampling in determining the respondents. The questionnaire was divided into two (2) parts. The first part was to gather the information on the paternal relationship of respondent and information on the demographic profile of the respondent such as age, educational attainment, civil status, and occupation. The second part determines the self-esteem inventory to be applicable to the other variable which was the profile of teenage mother. It measured the self-esteem of the respondent. The results revealed that the teenage mothers have average level problems encountered within their paternal relationship and self-esteem. It also revealed that the relationship of the teenage mothers with their demographic profile is average also. Results revealed that the null hypothesis was accepted. It means that problems encountered were significantly not related to demographic profile, self-esteem and paternal relationship of teenage mothers the other variable which was the profile of teenage mother. It measured the self-esteem of the respondent. The results revealed that the teenage mothers have average level problems encountered within their paternal relationship and self-esteem.
