Abstract: SISPEREZ, JESSICA JOY L., Self-awareness, Personality Trait and Level of Perfectionism among Cadets and Cadettes of Philippine National Police Academy. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2012. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Alma Fatima Reyes. This research was accomplished to determine the self-awareness, personality trait and level of perfectionism among cadets and cadettes of Philippine National Police Academy. It also sought to know if differences exist between self-awareness, personality trait and level of perfectionism of the respondents when grouped according to gender and if relationships exist among self-awareness and personality trait, self-awareness and perfectionism and personality trait and perfectionism. The study used Descriptive Comparative - Correlational Research Design. The research was conducted from January February 2012. The respondents were selected through stratified random sampling - grouped according to gender and availability sampling for the data gathering proper. A total of 309 respondents from Philippine National Police Academy were selected, 254 were cadets while 55 were cadettes. This utilized three research instruments namely: Rumination-Reflection Questionnaire, Big Five Inventory and Almost Perfect Scale-Revised. The data were gathered, analyzed and interpreted by the statistician. Different statistical measurements were used (frequency, mean, standard deviation, chi-square, Spearman rho and Mann-Whitney u-test) to determine and answer the problems raised in the research. The results revealed that there is a significant difference in the scores of cadets and cadettes in terms of neuroticism. Also, self-reflection and openness, self-reflection and conscientiousness, self-reflection and extraversion, self-reflection and agreeableness and self-reflection and neuroticism; self-rumination and openness, self-rumination and conscientiousness, self-rumination and extraversion, self-rumination and agreeableness and self-rumination and neuroticism; overall self-awareness and openness, overall self-awareness and conscientiousness, overall self-awareness and extraversion and overall self-awareness and neuroticism, self-reflection and discrepancy; self-rumination and discrepancy; overall self-awareness and discrepancy; openness and high standard; conscientiousness and discrepancy, conscientiousness and high standard and conscientiousness and overall perfectionism; extraversion and high standard and extraversion and overall perfectionism, and neuroticism and discrepancy and neuroticism and order were found out to be significantly related with each other.
