Abstract: AGAHAN, CYRIL 0. and SANTOS, KYLE HAROLD A. Development of a South-West Integrated Provincial Transport Terminal (SWIPTT) Monitoring System with Android Application. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014, Adviser: Mr. Bienvenido C. Sarmiento Jr. The design project was conducted to develop the South West Integrated Provincial Transport Terminal (SWIPTT) with Android Application. Specifically, it aimed to design and configure the SWIPTT monitoring system, develop an android application to control the SWIPTT monitoring system, evaluate and test the SWIPTT monitoring system in collaboration with SWIPTT android application and conduct a cost computation of the whole design project. The study has two (2) important ideas: monitoring the events inside the SWIPTT and providing means which extends the monitoring through the use of an Android application. The SWIPTT monitoring system focused on using its own network to view the IP cameras and sending live stream videos and MMS images, and android application focused on viewing live stream videos and sending SMS request. The system provided several functions like recording videos, video live streaming, and sending MMS images. The system allowed remote local access through Internet browser, inside the system's network. The design project was presented to the research advisory committee composed of the proponents' design project adviser, technical critic and faculty members of the Department of Computer and Electronics Engineering (DCEE) for initial and final testing last January 2014 at the Eng,ineering, Science (ES) Building. It was tested and several functions such as each routers and repeaters signal strength, IP camera viewing angle, disk management, receiving SMS and sending MMS was evaluated. Based on the data gathered, the proposed network layout for the SWIPTT was designed to fully accommodate the entire SWIPTT loading bays and waiting areas. The initial and final evaluation of the design was conducted by 50 participants consisting of College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) students. The evaluation was conducted at the ES Building on February 2014 to determine the functionality, reliability, consistency, accuracy, efficiency, and user interaction of the designed project. Results of the evaluation revealed that the SWIPTT monitoring system with android application has obtained all the objectives of the study. The design project provided extended access to remote monitoring functions in collaboration with android application. The total cost of the design project was P 21, 328.00.
