Abstract: ALLEUIA, EDROSE ADLAON and ROSANO, LACE ANN JOSE. Psychological Well-being, Academic Motivation and Scholastic Performance of Students in the Open High School Program in Tanza, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2014. Thesis Adviser Dr. Cecilia B. Banaag. The study generally aimed to determine whether the level of psychological well-being and academic motivation can predict the scholastic performance of students in the Open High School Program in Tanza, Cavite. The study made use of the descriptive-correlational design. Stratified random sampling was utilized to select the 70 students as participants of the study. The 54 item' Ryff Scale of Psychological Well-being and the 28 item' Academic Motivation by Vallerand, et. al., were used as instruments to collect the data. Form 137 was likewise used to get the scholastic performance of the students. Frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, Spearman rank order correlation and multiple regression analysis were the statistical tools used in the study. The study found out that psychological well-being and academic motivation level was in a high level while their scholastic performance was found to be satisfactory. In addition, there is no significant relationship between psychological well-being and academic motivation as well as between academic motivation and scholastic performance. Psychological well-being on the other hand is significantly related with scholastic performance of the participants. With regard to the predictor, autonomy was found to be the predictor of the scholastic performance.
