Abstract: DIOKNO, JOHANNAH O. and VIDAMO, JASMINE R. Career Awareness and Career Preference among Selected Fourth Year High School students in Selected Private and Public schools in Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Mary Joyce B. Eyaya. This study will be conducted on the students of Private and Private schools in Indang, Cavite from November 2013 to January 2014. The research was conducted to determine the level of career awareness and to know the difference between the career preference of public and private school in Indang, Cavite. .The researchers specifically aimed to determine the level of 'career awareness of the selected participants in private and public schools and the career preference of the selected participants in private and public school; to establish the relationship between career awareness and career preference of selected participants of private and public schools; and to know the difference between career awareness and career preference of the selected participants private and public schools. The researchers made use of the descriptive comparative-correlational research design. Through stratified proportional random sampling, the participants were selected public and private high school students. The instruments used are the Career Awareness Questionnaire and Professed Interest Inventory. The students were given both questionnaires. The data gathered were statistically treated by using Mean, Frequency, Percentage, Standard Deviation, Chi Square and Mann Whitney. The total number of the participants was 246 senior high school students. Results revealed that the scores of the public and private high school students have a significant difference on the career awareness category and in the career preference there is no significant difference.
