Abstract: AVIÑANTE, CHINO JEROME, AVIÑANTE, RALPH LAUREN, PANGANIBAN FREDERICK, PEL, PAUL MARK, Applied Research III, Cavite State University, Laboratory School, April 2003, "Effects of Different Ages of Budstick on Asexual Propagation of Pomelo (Citrus grandis) Advisers: Mr. Carlos Rodil Prof. Dulce Ramos The study "Effects of Different Ages of Bud sticks on Asexual Propagation of Pomelo" was conducted to determine the best age budstick to use in propagating pomelo. A total of 90 plants, which served as the rootstocks, were divided into three (3) treatments with three (3) replications. Treatment 1 was budded using the softwood bud, Treatment 2, using the semi-hardwood bud and Treatment 3, using the hardwood bud. In this study, 37 new and young plants were able to develop covering the period from November 2002 to January 2003. Based on the findings of the study, semi-hardwood is the best age of budstick to use in propagating pomelo. The plants budded with semi-hardwood developed with an average of 15.75 days while the hardwood buds developed with an average of 24.3 days. All the pomelo plants applied with the softwood bud were not able to survive. Semi-hardwood also gave the best results in the other parameters data regarding the development of the leaves.
