Abstract: HILDA NGWELE, Awareness, Purchase Intention and Adoption of Android Gadgets Among Foreign Students in Different Institutions in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Major in Marketing Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, May 2014. Adviser. Prof. Maria Corazon A. Buena. The study investigated the student’s level of awareness as well as addressing the levels of purchase intention and adoption of foreign students on android gadgets. A technological gadget makes an impact in individuals’ lives in terms of enhancing knowledge and skills educationally. Specifically, this study aimed to: |) describe the socio-economic characteristic of foreign students in different institutions in Cavite; 2) determine the level of awareness of foreign students with regards to android gadgets, 3) determine the level of purchase intention of foreign students with regards to android gadgets; 4) describe the level of adoption of the foreign students with regards to android gadgets; 5) describe the level of adoption of the foreign students on android gadgets; 6) determine the relationship existing between socio-economic characteristics of the foreign students and the purchase intention; 7) determine the significant relationship between the level of awareness and the factors that influence purchase intention; 8) determine the significant relationship between purchase intention and adoption of android gadgets; and 8) determine the problems encountered by using android gadgets. The study covered three academic institutions in Cavite namely: Adventist University of the Philippines, Cavite State University and AMA Computer College. A total of 103 officially enrolled students were the participants of the study. Data were gathered through personal interviews and self administered questionnaires. Results showed that a typical Pacific Island foreign student studying in Cavite is male, single, between 16 to 24 years old and an Adventist. The monthly school allowance of foreign students usually ranged from P2,000 to P14,666. Foreign students from the Pacific Island region tend to favor courses in the field of Business Administration. The relationship between age and purchase intention was found positive while the level of awareness was found significantly related to purchase intention but only in terms of price. The influence of advertisement was also found to be highly correlated with level of awareness on android gadgets. Similarly, the influence of promotion was also highly correlated with level of awareness on android gadgets. Furthermore, the educational importance of android gadgets was significantly correlated with the level of awareness of the participants on android gadgets.
