October 2013. Adviser: Mr. Marlon A. Mojica A study was conducted to determine the socio-demographic profile of migrant households in Cavite. Specifically, the study described the socio-demographic profile of households and household heads living migrants in Cavite in terms of: age, sex, marital status, educational attainment occupation, employment status and household and household heads income of household head; determined the reasons for the migration of households and household heads to Cavite grouped into: push factors and pull factors; determined the standard of living of households and household heads before and after migrating to Cavite in terms of: health, water and sanitation, housing employment, and income; assessed whether there is a significant difference in the standard of living of households and household heads before and after migrating to Cavite; ascertained whether there is a significant relationship between the current standard of living of households in selected migrants in Cavite and their socio-demographic profile; and identified the migration-related problems encountered by households and household heads after moving in to Cavite. Results showed that most household heads in migrant in Cavite were middle-aged, male and married and reached college. Many of them were working as plant and machine operators, factory workers and laborers. Most household heads had permanent job. Better living conditions and to look for a job in Cavite were the main reasons for migration. Test statistics showed that the standard of living of households improved after migrating to Cavite because water and sanitation, housing, employment and income improved after they migrated to Cavite. Finally, difficulty in finding a job and lack of livelihood available were the common problems encountered by households after migrating to Cavite.
