CREDO, KRIS JOY A. and TIBAYAN, RONARICA P., Growth and Yield Performance of Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea L. var. botrytis) Grown Under Open Cultivation with Different Concentrations of Wood Vinegar. Undergraduate thesis Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Crop Science. Cavite State University, Indang,Cavite. Adviser: Dr. Celso S. Crucido,PhD
The study was conducted at College of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Natural Resources Nursery in Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite from December 09, 2013 to February 9, 2014. It aimed to evaluate the growth and yield performance of cauliflower applied with different concentrations of wood vinegar in an open field. The treatments applied to the cauliflower were TO — no wood vinegar, T1 - one liter of wood vinegar and 300 hundred liters of water, T2 - 1 liter of wood vinegar and 200 liter of water, T3 - | liter of wood vinegar and 100 liter of water and T4 - lastly is 1 liter of wood vinegar and 50 liters of water,
The height of the cauliflower was not significantly influenced by the application of wood vinegar during the first to sixth weeks of observations. However, highly significant differences occurred on the seventh and eighth weeks after transplanting wherein plants in T3 have better growth than the rest of treated plants.
Yield components such curd smoothness, curd compactness, curd diameter and weight were not significantly influenced by the application of different concentrations of wood vinegar.
