This study was conducted to provide data about the effects of hemodialysis treatment to personal image and activities of daily living of patients with kidney failure in selected hospitals in Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1. identified the demographic profile of the hemodialysis patients on the study in terms of sex, age, religion, educational background, length of treatment, working status, general health condition and source of payment; 2. identify the personal image of the participants; 3. identify the participant’s activity of daily living; 4. determine the effect of length and frequency of hemodialysis treatment to the personal image of patients with kidney failure in selected hospital in Cavite in terms of self-esteem and body image; 5. determine the effects of length and frequency of hemodialysis treatment and condition to the activity of daily living of patients with kidney failure in selected hospital in Cavite in terms of bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, urinary continence and feeding.
Descriptive research design was used in this study. A total of 65 participants undergoing hemodialysis treatment were covered in this study. The list of patients was obtained from the selected hospitals in Cavite such as M.V Santiago and San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital.
A questionnaire was formulated to conduct the study for effects of hemodialysis treatment to personal image and activities of daily living in patients in two selected hospitals in the province of Cavite.
