Abstract: SEGOVIA, ROLAND DAVE J. and ALANO, CAMILLE JOY R., "Practices of PNP Officers in handling Law Violators".Undergraduate Thesis.Bachelor of Science in Criminology.Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Prof. Ruby Ann L. Espineli. The study was conducted in Dasmarinas City from October 2014 to March 2015. The study was aimed to: identify the demographic profile of the PNP officers; assess the practices of PNP officers in handling law violators; assess the perception of arrested persons on the practices of PNP officers in handling them; determine if there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile and the Practices of PNP officers in handling law violators; and determine if there is significant difference between the perceptions of PNP officers and arrested persons on the practices of PNP officers in handling law violators. Descriptive survey through a purposive sampling was done. Analysis of document and face to face interview were also conducted. Participants included 123 police officers and 30 arrested persons with a total of 153 participants. Majority of the police officers belonged to ages 30 to 39 years old had a rank of Police Officer 1 (P01), served for 6 to 10 years and was assigned in Police Community Precincts. Findings, revealed that the perception of both participants in the conduct of arrest were different. Police officers assumed that they implemented the standard operating procedures in the conduct of arrest. In contrast, the arrested persons were not satisfied with their performance.
