Abstract: NAKIBIRANGO, JOLLY. Career Orientation, Career Choice, and College Considerations of Open High school Students in Silang, Cavite. Master's Thesis. Master of Arts in Education major in Guidance and Counseling. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Adviser: Dr. Liza C. Costa. This is an exploratory study about the career orientation, career choice and college considerations of open high school students in Silang, Cavite. Specifically the study was carried out to: (1) determine the demographic profile of open high school students in terms of age, sex, civil status, estimated monthly family income and highest level of education to be attained; (2) find out the career orientation of open high school students, (3) determine the career choices of participants, (4) find out the college considerations of open high school students, (5) determine the relationship between the demographic profile of participants and their career orientation, (6) determine the relationship between the demographic profile of participants and their career choice, (7) determine the relationship between the demographic profile of participants and their college considerations, (8) find out the relationship between the participants' career orientation and career choice, (9) determine the relationship between participants' career orientation and college considerations and (10) find out the relationship between career choice of participants and their college considerations. Descriptive — correlational research design was employed in this study. The research instrument employed for this study was a questionnaire. The survey questionnaire determined the demographic profile of the participants, career orientation, career choice, and college considerations of participants• Results revealed that majority Of the Participants were females, and the age bracket which was most dominant was below 16 years; singles were the majority of the participants, and the estimated monthly family income for the participants was Php 6,001 to 8,000. The highest level of education to be attained participants was indicated at to attain some college courses. Results also revealed that the career orientation of the participants is in general management competence, service dedication to a cause, technical function, and entrepreneurial creativity career orientation categories. The career choices of participants were in realistic, enterprising, investigative, social, artistic, and conventional career choice categories. The college considerations of the participants were characterized by career advancement, college preference, tuition and financial aid, course curriculum, course duration, quality of professors, state of the art technology, and information. Findings revealed that there was no relationship between the demographic profile of the participants and their career orientation. Yet, there was a significant relationship between the participants' age, highest level of education to be attained, and their career choice. Additionally, it was found out that there was a significant relationship between the male participants and their career choice. Furthermore, findings of the study revealed that there was no significant relationship between the civil status and estimated monthly family income of participants and their career choice; there was no significant relationship between the demographic profile of the participants and their college considerations. There was no significant relationship between the participants' career orientation and career choice. Lastly, there was a significant relationship between the participants' career orientation and college considerations.

This is an exploratory study about the career orientation, career choice and college considerations of open high school students in Silang, Cavite. Descriptive — correlational research design was employed in this study. The research instrument employed for this study was a questionnaire. Additionally, it was found out that there was a significant relationship between the male participants and their career choice. Furthermore, findings of the study revealed that there was no significant relationship between the civil status and estimated monthly family income of participants and their career choice; there was no significant relationship between the demographic profile of the participants and their college considerations. There was no significant relationship between the participants' career orientation and career choice. Lastly, there was a significant relationship between the participants' career orientation and college considerations.
