Abstract: AURINO, COLEENE ELOISE B. Research and Development Activities at Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines, San Pablo Plant, San Pablo City, Laguna. Plant Practice Report. Bachelor of Science in Food Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Adviser: Ms. Aitee Janelle E. Reterta. The plant practice was conducted for a total of 300 hours at the Research and Development Department of Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines, San Pablo Plant in San Pablo City, Laguna from November 20, 2014 to January 26, 2015. The student acquired hands-on experience and knowledge in conducting shelf life study including preparation of samples for sensory evaluation. The student also developed her skills and abilities on the use of laboratory instruments in conducting analyses such as oil free fatty acid analysis, and water activity testing; gained knowledge in conducting product application activities; learned the importance of sample bank management and conducting inventory and in assisting customers or marketing support; and developed proper working attitude towards other company employees. The student was also trained to apply a proper working attitude to make her work much better, and efficient. The whole duration of the plant practice enabled the student to learn and appreciate the roles, and the actual work of a food technologist in a food manufacturing company, and experienced the work in the Research and Development Department which made her understand the importance of the work of the department in the company.
