ESCANO, JAN DENNIEL B., LEYRAN, JEROMIRA LUZ V., MATREO, MARIEL FATIMA D. Development and Evaluation of Robotic Vacuum Cleaner. Research Study (General Science Curriculum). Science High School, College of Education, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite.April 2015. Adviser: Poinsettia A. Vida.
This study was conducted from June 2014 to December 2014 at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to develop and evaluate a robotic vacuum cleaner. The objectives of the study were to (1) determine the performance level of the developed robotic vacuum cleaner in terms of diit removal efficiency, obstacle avoidance behavior, functionality, workability, reliability and durability; and (2) determine the cost of developing the robotic vacuum cleaner.
The software and the microcontroller unit were successfully developed and constructed. All the components of the robotic vacuum cleaner were working properly and were interfaced correctly with each other.
Based on the results of the evaluation, the robotic vacuum cleaner’s performance rate is very satisfactory in terms of dirt removal efficiency and obstacle avoidance behavior as tested by the researchers and in terms of functionality, workability, reliability and durability as evaluated by the respondents.
The total cost of the robotic vacuum cleaner was Php 8,590,00.
