Abstract: OCAMPO, ZAKIDRO H. and ROLLE, EHRICK P. "Design and Development of Microcontroller Based 4-Wheel Surveillance Rover with Artificial Intelligence." Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. September 2003. Adviser: Mrs. Marivic G. Dizon The study aimed to design an MCU Based 4-Wheel Surveillance Rover with Artificial Intelligence using video camera mounted on top of the design. In addition, the machine consisted of servos that drive the wheels, and Infrared Proximity Detectors to detect obstacles. The hardware part of the machine was divided into two parts: the microcontroller unit as the control unit of the system, and the mechanical itself. The microcontroller unit served as the center of all commands that the other unit had to perform. Since the microcontroller can be programmed according to the user, it tells how the motors should rotate, and the direction the machine should go depending on the signal sent by the sensors to the MCU. The machine continuously performs an instruction, unless an input from the sensor is sent to the MCU that changes the instructions. The language used in creating the software was PBasic. It was loaded on the EEPROM of the MCU that serves as a special programmable read only memory that could be erased and reprogrammed repeatedly. The operation can be done by downloading the inputted data to the microcontroller, which includes the start, right-turn, left-turn, back-up and end wherein the machine continuously performs the operation in a loop mann
