The study was conducted to develop a LAN-based management information system for Trece Martires City Elementary School that aimed to improve the operation of the organization in terms of record management. It is a tool to ease and lessen the workload of the said beneficiary. The system consists of five modules, namely: account management module that handles all the account of the teachers, principal and the administrator, content management module which contains the history, mission and vision of the organization; registration module which handles the registration of student and teacher information; upload module which is responsible for uploading student’s grade; and report module which is responsible for generating reports.
The proponent used software development methodology in developing the system. This methodology is composed of different phases such as analyze/planning phase, breakdown priority project phase, design module phase, code test/debug phase, integration of sub procedure phase, and test/implementation phase.
The system was developed using Hypertext Markup Language 4, PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor 5.3.8, and JavaScript 1.8.5. as the scripting languages, My Structured Query Language 5.1.41 for the database, Apache 2.2.14 as the main server, Notepad++ as an editor for the scripting languages, and Adobe Photoshop for the enhancement of the interface of the system.
The system was evaluated based on its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. The acceptance level of the users was stated in the evaluation of the system. With this, success was established in meeting the requirements and expectations needed by the organization.
