LORICA, HANADI and PANGANIBAN, JACKIE LYN Z. Online Management Information System for Anuling National High School Mendez, Cavite. An undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite.October 2014. Adviser: Mr. Marlon R. Pereria.
The study was conducted from June 2013 to October 2014 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. It aimed to design and develop an Online Management Information System for Anuling National High School, Mendez, Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to identify the problems within the organization in relation to handling records of both the students and faculty through conducting investigation and interview, analyze the identified problems using fishbone diagram, design the system using component diagram, use case diagram, database schema and class diagram, develop the system using PHP and MySQL, and evaluate the system through unit, integration and user acceptance testing. Software development methodology was used as the framework in the development of the system. It has seven phases namely analyze/planning, breakdown priority project, design module, code—test/debug, integration of sub procedure and testing, integration with existing system, test/implementation. The software was developed through the use of different tools including Adobe Photoshop CS5 for editing the images needed for the design of the graphical user interface, RedKoda 3.0 for the diagram design, PHP as the programming language, MySQL and XAMPP for database, and Microsoft Office for the documentation. The developed system was then subjected to unit, integration and user acceptance testing. In user acceptance testing, the ISO 9126 evaluation form was used.
The system was evaluated by a total of 166 respondents composed of randomly selected students and all the teachers of Anuling National High School. The system was evaluated based on the given criteria: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintability, and portability. Overall, the system was assessed as excellent in all of the criteria and met all the objectives and requirements.
