Abstract: MATILLA, ABLE JENNEBY F. Profitability of Agricultural Supply Stores in Selected Municipalities of Cavite. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Financial Management. Hernandez The study was conducted to assess and evaluate the profitability of agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to describe the socio-economic characteristics of the participants, describe the business characteristics of agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite, determine the products offered and its corresponding prices, determine the degree of implementation of marketing practices of the agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite, describe the profitability of agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite and to identify if there is a significant relationship between the degree of implementation of marketing practices and profitability of agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite. The study was conducted in selected municipalities of Cavite namely: Alfonso, Bacoor City, Dasmarinas City, General Trias, Tanza and Trece Martires City. Seventy five agricultural supply store owners were included in the study. Data were collected through personal interviews with the participants with the aid of the structured interview schedule. Data were analyzed using the following statistical tools such as frequency count, mean, range and percentage. The spearman rho was used to determine the relationship between marketing practices and profitability of agricultural supplies store. The average age of the participants was 48 years old and most of them were male and married. Out of 75 store owners, only 47 percent were college graduates. Majority (93%) of agricultural supply stores were operated as sole proprietorship and the average years of operation was 10 years. The operating capital of the business ranged from P75,000 to P450,000 with an average of P131,080. In the degree of implementation of marketing practices of agricultural supply store include their product, price, promotion and place. The result shows that the overall degree of implementation of marketing practices of agricultural supply store was moderately implemented which means that store owners usually practice about 75 percent of required performance/implementation target. For the year 2013, the total average net profit generated from agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite amounted to P 425,853.33 while the total average operating profit amounted to P 281,288.29. Likewise, the average operating expenses of agricultural supplies store amounted to P 144,565.04. Moreover,the overall annual gross profit margin of agricultural supplies stores in selected municipalities of Cavite was 36 percent. Likewise, the overall annual operating profit margin of agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite was 23 percent. In addition, the overall annual net profit margin of agricultural supply stores in selected municipalities of Cavite was 19 percent. The results of the spearman rho test showed that the degree of implementation of marketing practices in terms of products, price, promotion and place had no significant relationship to the profitability in terms of gross profit margin, net profit margin and operating profit margin.
