Abstract: JEFFREY M. GANNABAN and NILO G. DE GRANO. Development of an E-Learning System for Philippine History of College of Art and Sciences — Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. MAY 2015. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang. The study conducted “Development of an E-Learning System for Philippine History of College of Art and Sciences — Cavite State University” which able to provide a new approach of education and to improve the teaching process directly involving the use of computer in the presentation of the lessons. The study aimed to enhance the conventional methodology of the subject. It provides each student with highly individualized instruction that map very closely onto learning strategies and thinking process of the student. The Rational Unified Process (RUP) was used as paradigm in the development of the system it is divided into the four phases which includes inception phase, elaboration phase, construction phase and transition phase. The E-Learning system was developed under XAMPP, wherein Apache was used as the server, PHP as the scripting language and MySQL for the database. Macromedia Dreamweaver was used for interface design, Google Chrome as the default browser, Adobe Photoshop 7 for editing or creating images, Macromedia Flash 8 for the creating animation and interface and Microsoft Office Word 2007 for the documentation. The software was evaluated and satisfied all the objectives of the study.
