Online resources: Abstract: This feasibility study attempted to design, construct, test, and revise an automotive gasoline engine tester to meet the immediate needs of vocational teachers and students in their quest to make teaching in automotive technology more relevant, meaningful, and effective. The automotive gasoline engine tester can be used for checking battery voltage, test and measure engine revolution (r.p.m.), test and measure distributor dwell-angle, test distributor contact points, cheek high tension spark/spark plug, check distributor spark advance mechanism, check ignition timing, and check continuity of electrical wiring, parts, and other electrical components in the automobile. The significant findings of this study show that the automotive gasoline engine tester can perform multitest on the different functions of an automotive engine. It is safe, accurate, and effective. It is technically feasible to dc- sign, construct, and develop a gasoline engine tester utilizing locally-available resources both in the city and school. The tester machine could improve instruction in automotive technology at the Bicol College of Arts and Trades, Naga City and other tecmical vocational schools offering the automotive technology course. The total production cost is B2,770.51 at the time the study was conducted and completed.
