The study was conducted to determine the income and employment opportunities of persons with disability in selected areas of Cavite. Specifically, this study accomplished to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of persons with disability in selected areas of Cavite; determine the level of income of selected persons 'with disability; determine the preferences of selected persons with disability in finding a job; determine the problems encountered by persons with disability in finding a job; determine the relationship between the socio-demographic characteristics and income of persons with disability; determine the relationship between the socio-demographic characteristics and problems encountered in finding a job of persons with disability; determine the relationship between socio-demographic characteristics and problems encountered in the workplace; and determine the employment opportunities of persons with disability in selected areas of Cavite. The study utilized two sets of participants-persons with disability and business establishments and local government. The study involved 200 persons with disability who had income with ages 18 to 60 years old. However, 189 business establishments regardless of the type of business and 13 local government agencies were used as the other s,.q of participants for the employment opportunities of persons with disability. The study revealed that the socio-demographic characteristics of persons with disability as age, civil status, educational attainment, and types of disabiiity were found significantly related to income. However, sex of persons with disability was found not significantly related to income. On the other hand, socio-demographic characteristics of persons with disability were found not significantly related to problems encountered in finding a job. However, gender, educational attainment, and types of disability were found significantly related to problems encountered in the workplace while age and civil status were found not significantly related to the problems encountered in the workplace. The study revealed that the current job of persons with disability is usually their preferred job. However, the study revealed that the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons was not strictly implemented by business establishments. Results showed that there were more business establishments which were not aware of the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons. Thus, there were more business establishments which were not oriented with the capabilities of persons with disability towards work and that there were more business establishments which were not willing to accept persons with disability for employment.
