MARZO, DARYLL L. Efficacy of parotid secretion of American bull frog as biological molluscicide. A Research Study. April 2006. Adviser: Dr. Teddy F. Tepora
The study was conducted to produce a biological molluscicide from parotid secretion of American bull frog (Bufo marinus)
There were six treatments used in the study, distilled water as the control treatment (T 1), 10 mg secretion (T2), 20 mg secretion (T3), 30 mg secretion (T4), 40 mg secretion (T5), 50 mg secretion (T6).
Based on the result of the study, the formulation with the highest concentration of parotid secretion of American Bull frog (T6-50 mg) appeared to be the most effective among treatments. The efficacy of the parotid secretion depended on the age of the snail.
It was most effective when used on young golden apple snails and on their eggs.
