Adviser: Ms. Sherrie Rhose M. Rupido. The study was conducted to determine the reception and resistance of citizens to e-banking services in selected rural areas of Cavite. Specifically, it also sought to answer the following: determine the socio-economic profile of citizens; determine the level of reception and resistance of citizens on e-banking services; determine the satisfaction level on e-banking services; ascertain the relationship between socio-economic profile and level of reception and resistance on e-banking services; ascertain the relationship between socio-economic profile and satisfaction level on e-banking services; ascertain the relationship between level or reception and resistance and satisfaction level on e-banking services; and determine the challenges and benefits associated with e-banking services. The study was confined to the selected rural areas in Cavite specifically: General Emilio Aguinaldo, Magallanes, Ternate, Mendez and Amadeo. The study was conducted from August 2018 to May 2019. The sample size was composed of 399 participants. Data collection was done from January to April 2019. Primary data were gathered through survey questionnaires and were divided into four parts. The first part was for the socio-economic profile. In determining the level of reception and resistance on e-banking services, questions were adapted from the article of Al-Smadi (2012). Questions for determining the satisfaction level was adapted from the study of Mojares (2014). Lastly, to ascertain the challenges and benefits associated with e-banking services, questions were adapted from the study of Saeed (2015). The survey questionnaires were given to citizens in the rural areas who were availing e-banking services. The researchers used Slovin's formula to determine the number of samples from the total population and use Purposive Sampling for the selection of participants. Spearman Rank Correlation was used to determine the relationships between the said variables in the study. The age of the participants ranged from 17 to 71 years old with an average of 35 years old. Majority had ages ranging from 17-26, were female, single, college graduates and had a monthly gross income ranging from PhP12,500 to PhP22,499. The result implied that participants from the rural areas of Cavite had a high possibility of being receptive to e-banking services. Indicators such as perceived usefulness, attitude, and intention to use resulted to verbal interpretation of extremely likely. Perceived ease of use and subjective norms was interpreted as likely. With these indicators, participants tend to use e-banking services. Participants were highly satisfied with e-banking services as it gives them convenience and accessibility. On the other hand, due to risks and challenges specifically frauds and risk of disclosing information in using e-banking services, the participants' response resulted in a high possibility to resist e-banking services. Results revealed that educational attainment and monthly gross income were positively and significantly correlated with the level of reception and resistance as well as satisfaction level on e-banking services whilst age was negatively and significantly correlated with the level of reception and resistance on e-banking services. The level of reception and resistance and satisfaction level on e-banking services were found to be positively and significantly correlated with each other.
