ELIZALDE, ERICA SHANE LOYOLA; RODIL, MARFE ALLEN MARQUEZ, Demographic Profile, Work Attitude and Job Satisfaction of Employees in the Municipalities of District VI in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014.Adviser: Ms. Mary Joyce B. Eyaya.
The study was conducted to describe and correlate demographic profile, work attitude and job satisfaction of the participants who were the 293 permanent office staff employees in Amadeo, Gen. Trias, Tanza and Trece Martires City that was chosen through proportional quota sampling technique. The researchers used three data gathering tools: the survey questionnaire for the demographic profile of the participants and the two validated instruments, namely: Work Attitude Questionnaire and Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. The statistical analysis used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi square, spearman rank correlation and pearson correlation. The summary of the findings showed that the female employees outnumbered the male, most of the employees were in the middle adulthood age, majority of the employees were married and majority of the employees have been with the local government unit for a decade or so. The level of work attitude in terms of attitude towards work, attitudes towards co-employees, attitude towards supervisor and attitude towards management was high. The level of job satisfaction in terms of fringe benefits, incentives and opportunities, safety and security, proximity of the workplace, goals and objectives, existing practices, and career development turned out to be high level while in assignment was moderate level.
The result of the statistical analysis also revealed that the null hypothesis is accepted for correlation of demographic profile to work attitude and job satisfaction which means that there is no significant relationship between the variables. On the other hand, the results found out that a significant relationship exists between work attitude and job satisfaction. Hence, the null hypothesis is rejected.
