Abstract: BORREGA, CAMILLE HARRIETTE Q. and ROCES, GERSON MARK PERCEPTION AND UTILIZATION: CREDIBILITY OF BLOGS AS INFORMATION, EDUCATION, AND COMMUNICATION MATERIAL TO SELECTED STUDENTS OF CAVITE STATE UNIVERSITY. Undergraduate Thesis. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Kimmi Dane Jimenez As students have an easy access to the internet nowadays, blogs as an online sanctuary of information and communication can also be a source of references that can contribute to the education of the students. This study aimed to analyze the level of perception of selected students and their utilization on blogs as an information, education, and communication material. This paper adapted the correlational-descriptive method. The study was conducted among 150 selected Journalism students of Cavite State University Indang, Cavite who have been using blogs as their source of information, education, and communication material and through purposive sampling technique, also called judgment sampling. Data were collected through survey method to generate participant perspectives about ideas, opinions, and experiences. The outcome were analyzed and compared through the use of one-tailed Spearman's rho correlation to determine if there is a significant relationship between students' perception and utilization on blogs. The analysis method showed that the null hypothesis is accepted, or we can say that there is no significant relationship between perceived credibility of blogs and their utilization as TEC material. The level of utilization of the students towards blogs does not relate to their level of perception towards it.
