NIDALYN MAE O. DESALES, JHOANNA LYNN PADUA, and ANNE MARIE C. SUAREZ. Assessment of the Development of the Local Government Unit's Implementation of the community Quarantine in Selected Barangays of Imus City. Undergraduate thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Aldrin P. Baes.
The study was conducted from November 2021 through June 2022. It was conducted at Imus City in the years 2021-2022. Specifically, the study aimed to determine: (1) the measures taken by the local government unit in implementing the community quarantine in terms of healthcare, economic, and social; and (2) to assess the development of the LGU's implementation of the community quarantine in terms of healthcare, economic, and social. This is a qualitative research paper which utilizes the descriptive-qualitative research design to analyze data during the community quarantine in selected barangays. In connection to this, thematic analysis was used in conducting this study. As a result, the measures taken by the LGU in implementing the community quarantine are responding to COVID positive, immediate contact tracing, and distribution of COVID kits as measures taken in the healthcare aspect. The LGU emphasized the distribution of relief goods, assistance in the distribution of Social Amelioration Program (SAP), and monetary aid called the "Lingap Imuseño" as measures carried in the economic aspect. Finally, the LGU had strict implementation of curfew and social distancing as measures conducted in the social aspect. Generally, there were two improvements of the LGU in the healthcare aspect, and they are (1) enhanced contact tracing and (2) consistent COVID-19-positive response. These were considered effective, the satisfaction of the LGU Officials and household heads was visible. Most crucially, the projected impact and purpose of the advances were reached. The change of the LGU in the economic aspect is the decline in the delivery of relief products and cash support. Such was regarded as ineffectual; the dissatisfaction of both the LGU Officials and household heads became obvious. Most significantly, the goal of the action, which is to deliver emergency relief and stop-gap measures, was not reached. The researchers asserted that the development of the LGU in the social aspect is the (1) stricter implementation of curfew and (2) regular patrolling. They were deemed as effective, the satisfaction from both the LGU officials and household heads became clear. Significantly, the developments intended to limit the number of COVID-19 instances were reached.
