PULIDO, LLONA A. Applied Research IV (Agricultural Science Curriculum); Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, Effects of Kinetin on the Growth, Flowering and Suckering Ability of Anthurium. Adviser: Mr. Carlos Rodil.
The study was conducted at Lumampong, Indang, Cavite in order to evaluate the effect of different concentration of Kinetin on the growth, flower Production and suckering ability of anthurium and to determine the best combination of different concentrations of kinetin and variety of anthurium
The different treatments were arranged following the Split-Lot Design with 2 replications. The treatments were the followings
Main Plot- Variety of Anthurium
Vi- Nitta (orange?)
V2- Kaumana (red)
Subplot- Concentrations of Kinetin
CO~ Control
Ci~ SO ppm of kinetin
C2- 100 ppm of kinetin
C3- 150 ppm of kinetin
C4— 200 ppm of kinetin
CS- 250 ppm of kinetin
The results of the study ware summarised Concentrations of kinetin were significantly different from each other. It affects the growth, flowering and suckering of anthurium plants.
From among the concentrations of kinetin used, C3-150 ppm of kinetin affected favourably the growth, flowering and suckering ability of anthurium.
Variety Nitta (orange) differ significantly to variety Kaumana in the growth and diameter of flower, this was due to the varietal difference mast e@apecially in the genetic make-up of the varieties.
