FIDEL, ALJON F. and DINO, MESULLAM A. Development of Software for Noise Monitoring System in Cavite State University. Undergraduate thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. October 2011. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang.
The Software for Noise Monitoring was constructed at Bancod, Indang, Cavite from August 2011 to October 2011. The design project “Software for Noise Monitoring system” was design to monitor the noise in a specific area.
It was mainly composed of Alarm, Microcontroller and Visual Basic program that filter and process the data input.
The Noise Monitoring system was design to detect and prevent unnecessary noise; the microcontroller has 2 ports for the sensor, each sensor has capable in detecting sound within 5m*- 150 m*. The minimum default duration of them Alarm to turn on is 3 second and its maximum duration is 30 second. The alarm was made up of 2pcs Compact florescent lamp covered with wood and acrylic fiber glass. The total size of the alarm is 7 x 18 inches. The Noise Monitoring system has a default threshold setting of 25 numeric value this setting can be change up to 255 numeric value for the system to suit the environment in the area and the different situation.
The alarm signboard will be displaying its warning message Silence” automatically if the sound emitted in the area or location exceed to the threshold level set by the researcher.
