A three-month field study was conducted in Philippine National Bank, Pasay City. The study aimed to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom to actual work, describe the organization and management in the Economics and Research Division, describe the author's observation regarding the different operation in the Economics and Research Division, and identify common problems encountered in Economics and Research Division and recommend feasible solution to the problems identified.
Data gathering was done through personal interview with the employees and actual participation in the bank activities. Other data were gathered from the bank's
manual and records.
The study was limited in the organization and management in Economies and
Research Division. and operation of the department. Problems encountered n department were also discussed.
The Philippine National Bank (PNB), the country's first universal bank, is one of
the largest private local-commercial banks. The bank was established by the Government Of the Philippines in 1916. As an instrument of economic development, PNB led the industry the years with its agricultural modernization program and trade finance support for the country's agricultural exports as well as the introduction of many innovations such as the bank on wheels, computerized banking, ATM banking, mobile money
