Recently, there has been a surge in interest in the topic of situational crime prevention,
which is based on the assumption that criminal behavior is essentially rational, autonomous,
and capable of changing and responding to unfavorable outcomes, whether foreseen or
experienced. In this study the residents and implementors of City of Dasmarinas were subjected
to assess their perception in effectiveness and awareness towards situational crime prevention
strategies. This study aimed also to determine the significant difference on the perception of
residents and implementers towards the said crime prevention.
Furthermore, the result shows that the residents and implementers see the crime
prevention in a different level of effectiveness and awareness. The findings clearly demonstrates
that implementers are extremely aware and has the perception of effective towards the
situational crime prevention. However, perception of the residents towards the said crime
prevention is only aware and moderately effective given that City of Dasmarinas still has the
highest crime rates.
The residents and implementers of the City of Dasmarinas was subjected in the study.
Descriptive method under quantitative research was used to evaluate their level of awareness
and level of effectiveness towards the situational crime prevention model on lowering the crime
rate in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. The used of One-way Analysis of Variance and descriptive
statistical treatment were shown to be effective ways of analyzing the significant
