The project was conducted at the Dilig Poultry Farm, Buna Cerca, Indang, Cavite from November 3 to December 22, 1994.
A total of 600 straight-run commercial day-old broiler chicks was used in this project for the student to learn the different management practices affecting profitability and to develop his managerial skills in broiler production. After the operation, the birds weighed 976.5 kg or an average of 1.74 kg. The birds consumed a total of 2,500 kg of feeds with an average of 4.46 kg. The birds exhibited an average of 2.56 feed efficiency. A mortality of 6.5% was recorded during the conduct of the project. The birds were sold at P43.00/kg liveweight which amounted to P41,974.02. A net income of P9,137.57 was realized with a return on investment of 27.59%.
