The cattle raisers had initial capital investment ranging from P300,000.00 to P900,000.00 aud with an average annual farm income of P150,566.66. Aside from cattle raising cattle raisers also. had other sources of income such as business, employment, fishing and rice farm-ing. Most of the respondents were sole proprietors of their farm and they were all members of the cattle raisers' organi-zation. Only twelve respondents reported to have obtained loans from P.N.B. and D.B.P. for their capital needs. The study revealed that size of farm, age and experience in cattle industry were significantly related to the total household income of cattle raisers. Civil status, tenure status, and educational attainment were found significantly related to total household income while number of dependents was not related to total household income. Socio-economic characteristics of the respondents such as educational attainment, tenure status, civil status, experience in cattle industry and age were found to have no significant relationship to total household expenditures of the respondents. Several problems were encountered by the respondents The most common problems were cattle rustling, prevalence of animal diseases, lack of nutritious grasses, no availa-ble capital to be invested to large cattle business, and marketing and transportation.
