SANTOS, RIO, DACUDAG, PRINCESS ELLA L., DEVELOPMENT OF SECURITY ASSISTANCE APPLICATION WITH GPS IN CAVITE. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, January 2022. Adviser: Prof. Ezra Marie F. Ramos.
The study was conducted from October 2020 to January 2022. The testing and evaluation of the application was conducted at Cavite State University - Indang Cavite. Upon the development of the Security Assistance Application with GPS in Cavite, the researchers used the evolutionary prototyping model that serves as their guide to make the system fully functioning. The system was developed using different software and tools: Android Studio and PHP for the database. It is composed of the following modules: Information Module, GPS Module, System Alert Module, and Records Module.
The system was tested using unit testing, integration testing and acceptance testing. After the development, the system was evaluated by the respondents who were mostly police and barangay officials and IT experts in the Department of Information Technology. The researchers obtained an overall rating denoting an excellent result. It signifies that the system passed the respondent's expectations. However, to further improve the system, the following features were recommended: more visual guides on how the app works, help users understand the application mechanics with tutorials, improve UI, visuals, and design, and add ID confirmation.
