Abstract: Cuevas, Jeriemay, F., Kater, Zyra Victoria P. and Miciano, Ma. Regina M. Compassion Fatigue and Compassion Satisfaction of Selected Social Workers in the Local Government Units of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis in Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Cavite State University. June 2021. Adviser: Ms. Ethel Jane Queppet, RSW This study was conducted within the boundaries of Cavite from September 2020 to June 2021. It aimed to study Compassion Fatigue and Compassion Satisfaction of Selected Social Work Students in Local Government Units in Cavite. The study involved thirty-two (32) participants who were social workers that practiced a general approach at LGU's in Cavite. The instrument contained two parts, the ProQol Scale 2005 that was adapted from a pre-existing one by Stamm together with interview type questions that were formulated by the researchers and validated by registered social workers. It contained questions that answered the researchers' objectives: 1). To determine the demographic profiles of social workers and the clients they serve, pertaining to years of service, work environment, type of office, client's gender and age range. 2). To determine the levels and indicators of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction in terms of burnout and secondary traumatic stress. 3). To determine the levels of compassion satisfaction of social workers in LGU's in Cavite. And 4). To determine the correlation between compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction considering both burnout and to compassion satisfaction. After interpreting the data, the following conclusions were drawn: That the average number of years in service of their participants have an average of 9.4 years the difference between each participant's year of experience is great. That their participants serve all ages, all genders and almost all of them serve ten or more clients a day. That 24 of the respondents work in an office setting while eight of them work on the field. It is also drawn that nine of the participants work at the PSWDO, 11 in CSWDO and 12 in MSWDO. That most of their respondents do not experience either burnout or secondary traumatic dress and have high levels of compassion satisfaction. In terms of correlation, the relationship between Compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction is highly significant. The lower the compassion fatigue the higher the compassion satisfaction.
