Abstract: MAMUCOD, KYLA NICOLE V. and PONTIMAR, DANICA SHAIRA P. Factors Affecting Interest Level and Career Choice of Selected Social Work Students of Cavite State University-Main Campus A.Y. 2020-2021 Undergraduate Thesis in Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Cavite State University. June 2021. Adviser: Ms. Darylvy R. Avila, RSW, MSSW. The study was conducted from April to June 2021 in the Cavite State University-Main Campus at Indang, Cavite, to know the association between the Factors affecting Interest Level and Career Choice of Selected Social Work Students of Cavite State University-Main Campus. Specifically, the study aimed to 1. To identify the Factors affecting the Interest Level and Career Choice in terms of activity choice; 2. To identify the Childhood Experiences encountered by the social work students in terms of Family, Peers, and School; 3. To determine the association between the Factors affecting the Interest Level and Career Choice encountered by the Social Work students in terms of Family, Peers, and School. The respondents have a total of 157 social work students. The following hypotheses were formulated to guide this study: Null Hypothesis (Ho) = There is no significant association between the Factors affecting Interest Level and Career Choice encountered by the Social Work students in terms of Family, Peers, and School. Alternative Hypothesis (HA) = There is a significant association between the Factors affecting Interest Level and Career Choice encountered by the Social Work students in terms of Family, Peers, and School. After gathering and analyzing the data, the results show that the social work students are "Very Interested" in the social activities. In terms of Childhood Experiences, the results showed that in the Family, most of the Social Work students experienced feeling safe and cared for in their household. While in the Peer category, their friends support them in their career choice. And in the School, 123 out of 157 answered that they have experienced work immersion in their junior or senior high school years. The data analysis used was Chi-square statistics. It was found that the p-value of 0.180 which is greater than the set p-value <0.05 7 failed to reject the null hypothesis that implicates that there is no significant relationship between the two variables. The study revealed that most of the Selected Social Work Students of Cavite State University-Main Campus are inclined towards the social activities from Holland's Theory of Vocational Choice out of its other five personality types Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Enterprising, and Conventional. This means that they are more inclined toward activities such as Assist people in acquiring their needs. In terms of their Childhood Experiences, most of the Social Work students feel safe and cared for in their household which means that they belong in a family with a positive and healthy environment, moreover, their friends support them in their career choice, and they have experienced work immersion in their junior or senior high school years. Lastly, it was found that there is no significant association between the Factors affecting Interest Level and Career Choice encountered by the Social Work students in terms of Family, Peers, and School.
