Baybay This study was conducted to determine the level of English language proficiency of Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (BAELS) students and the level of academic performance in terms of grade point average (GPA). Specifically, this study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of English language proficiency and academic performance of BAELS students of Cavite State University-Main Campus. There are a total of 100 BAELS students who participated in the study. The study was conducted online via google meet and was timed. The study used descriptive correlational design. It was used to analyze and correlate if there is a significant relationship between the level of English language proficiency and academic performance. Results showed that BAELS students obtained an ‘early advanced level of English language proficiency and a 'good' level of academic performance in terms of grade point average (GPA). It is concluded that there is no significant relationship between BAELS students' level of English language proficiency and academic performance.
