Free Morpheme Constraint proposed by Shana Poplack (1981), stated that code-switching will not happen in words such as between two affixes, stem and an affix. A total of 100 BAELS students were asked to answer the survey through online platforms such as messenger, Facebook, and email. The study was conducted since November 2021 until June 2022. The study concluded that most of the students are aware that Free Morpheme constraint exist on (Filipino and English) code-switching, and it has become a strategy to effectively communicate with someone. Aside from that, it helps them to expound their vocabulary and learn new words. Therefore, the use of Filipino and English in a conversation could establish an effective communication because it is a huge help to easily communicate, and it could employ proper phrases or words by transitioning from one language to another.
