The purpose of this paper is to identify discursive strategies commonly used by presidentiables and how discourses cover the components of ten-stepwise approach to discourse analysis of political text helps citizens and voters and future researchers to political meaning in the Philippines. The study used observational methods to collect qualitative data. It also used Searle's discursive strategy and wodak's classification of speech acts. The course that is based on a ten-stepwise approach to discourse analysis using discursive strategy and classification of speech acts proved to raise the awareness of and knowledge of the citizen and voters in choosing the next leader for the next six years. The descriptive analysis drawn from the transcription of political discourses and presented by course topic showed that the most popular candidates gained more attention than the opposition.
